Will those who never heard the Gospel go to Hell?
Although Scripture says God is partially revealed outside of the Bible. I.e. by creation, his full revelation to humanity is found only in the Bible and by a personal relationship with Him.
Romans 1:19 “For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God himself has made it plain to them.Although Scripture says God is partially revealed outside of the Bible. I.e. by creation, his full revelation to humanity is found only in the Bible and by a personal relationship with Him.
Vs.20 For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes-his eternal power and divine nature-have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse.
Vs.21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. Instead, their thoughts turned to worthless things, and their ignorant hearts were darkened. Vs.22 Though claiming to be wise, they became fools,” Vs.23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images that looked like mortal human beings, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.
According to scriptures, a person does not have to know the Bible to know that there is an Eternal God in existence due to the facts that creation itself is a testimony of His eternal existence. Psalms 19:1, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the expanse proclaims His handiwork. Vs.2, “Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.”
Many people on earth have never heard the Gospel before but know that there is a true Creator who is omnipotent and eternal, who has displayed His awesomeness through the wonders of creation, yet, have never received information of Jesus as part of their knowledge due to a strict anti-Christian religious community etc. The destiny of these people to go to Heaven or Hell is based upon few statements made by Jesus.
John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life: NO MAN cometh unto the Father, BUT BY ME. Also, John 10:9 “I am the door: BY ME if any man enter in, he shall be saved,” (note By Me).
This means, if the person has understanding of the knowledge of God through His creation, but has never known Jesus Christ, the door of Salvation, there will be “NO” salvation for that person; for salvation comes through Jesus Christ and ONLY Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12 Romans 5:9). This is why Paul said in Romans 10:14 “How, then, can people call on someone they have not believed? And how can they believe in someone they have not heard about? And how can they hear without someone preaching?”
So the question is what will happen to these people who never hear the Gospel?
Romans 2:12, “For as many as have sinned without law [knowledge of the word of God] shall also perish without law:”
People aren’t innocent before God because they are morally guilty of rejecting the truth about God through creation. When people who have never heard the gospel die, their eternal fate is not determined on whether or not they rejected Jesus. You cannot reject a person you never knew in the first place, therefore, people do not go to Hell simply for rejecting Jesus; but people go to Hell because they are sinners. Not believing or being in Christ simply seals their fates.”
Jesus says in Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
1Peter 4:18 “If it is hard for the righteous person to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and sinful person?”
John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he CANNOT see the kingdom of God.” Romans 6:23 makes it clear, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST our Lord.
IF THOSE IGNORANT OF JESUS AND HIS WORD WERE SAVED, THE GOSPEL WOULD BE USELESS. Romans 1:16 says that the gospel of Christ is the “power of God to salvation for everyone who believes; to the Jew first, and also for the Greek.”
Therefore, “WHETHER PEOPLE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR THE GOSPEL OF TRUTH OR NOT THEY CANNOT BE SAVED OUTSIDE JESUS CHRIST; ITS NOT POSSIBLE.”
Also, God is a just God and cannot justify the guilty, Numbers 14:18 “and by no means clearing the guilty,”
Nahum 1:3, “he is powerful and never lets the guilty go unpunished.” This confirms Deuteronomy 4:24, “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire.” and Exodus 23:7, “for I will not justify the wicked.”
It says concerning sinners in Galatians 5:19-21, “THEY WHICH DO SUCH THINGS SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.”
Romans 8:14, “Those who are led by God's Spirit are God's children.”
Outside Jesus Christ there is no remission of sins for remission only comes through the shed blood of the sacrificed Lamb of God, Jesus, Therefore a person must be washed in that redemptive blood of the Messiah in order to be saved.
